The Chase Cards

Grand Master Rares. A brand-new rarity with hieroglyphic borders, found only on the 18 reimagined cards. Each card has just 100 copies for the entire Americas, serial-numbered 001 through 100, so only 1,800 exist across North, Central and South America combined. Europe and other markets get their own separate 100 per card, marked with an "E" after the serial number. Every Grand Master Rare is printed in English.

Extended art Starlight Rares. All 18 reimagined cards come in extended art Starlight Rare. Because Magnificent Monsters releases after Chaos Origins, these use the new Starlight look with rainbow borders and enhanced colors.

Extended art Ultra Rares. The more attainable way to get the full-art look on all 18 reimagined cards.

New and variant art cards. Twenty more new or variant art cards, including anime cards like Orichalcos Sword of Sealing and Rainbow Bridge Bifrost, new variant art I:P Masquerena and S:P Little Knight, and W:P Fancy Ball, a new card showing the two together.

Chibi variants. Ten chibi-style art versions of cards like A Bao A Qu, the Lightless Shadow, Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder, Dark Ruler No More and Sky Striker Mobilize - Engage!

Six New Boss Monsters

Magnificent Monsters adds six new boss monsters, one for each Special Summoning type, and each is a new take on a popular existing monster. Highlights include Nightmare-Eyes Restrict for Fusion, Galaxy-Eyes Antimatter Dragon for Xyz and Crystron Halqifibrax Prism for Link.

Foil Upgrades and Reprints

Forty cards get foiled for the first time after only ever being printed as Common or Rare, from recent Radiant Typhoon, Artmage, DoomZ and GMX cards to classics like Toon Cyber Dragon and Sixth Sense. Another 40 popular foils return too, including Medius the Pure, Elzette, Azamina of the White Forest, Gorgon of Zilofthonia, Delinquent Duo and Dark Magician the Magician of Black Magic.

How the Box Works

Magnificent Monsters brings back the slot system from Magnificent Mavens. Each position in a pack can only hold cards from its own small pool, so every pack has a purpose and you get several shots at the premium cards in every box instead of digging through filler. Each box contains:

  • 3 packs with 5 Ultra Rare cards each
  • 3 bonus Secret Rares, each with a chance to upgrade to Starlight Rare

That's 18 foil cards per box, and every slot is pulling from a curated pool.

Tips Before You Open

  • Handle every pack carefully. Grand Master Rares are extremely scarce, and a serial-numbered card is worth protecting the moment it comes out of the pack. Have sleeves and toploaders ready.
  • Check the serial number. Americas Grand Master Rares have no letter after the number, while copies distributed from Europe end in "E."
  • Know the three versions. Each reimagined card exists as a standard Ultra Rare, an extended art Ultra Rare and an extended art Starlight Rare, plus the Grand Master Rare. Make sure you know which one you pulled before you trade or sell.
  • Check sold listings. Prices on the top pulls are still settling, so recent sold prices are the best guide before you buy or sell.
